    2018 UMA Student Architecture Show

The Charles Danforth Gallery at the University of Maine at Augusta will host its 2018 Student Architecture Show featuring the work of UMA students in the Bachelor of Architecture program. The work will be available for viewing through Feb. 22. A reception will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15.

The exhibition is a showcase of UMA students’ studio, analysis and technology work. The student projects include design ideas across a broad spectrum of scales and contexts, as well as collaborative community projects, precedent studies, analysis of existing buildings, and thesis investigations.

At the Feb. 15 reception, students will be in attendance and available to discuss their work and experiences participating in the UMA architecture program. The Student Architecture Show also recognizes outstanding student exhibits with awards along with scholarships.

“The annual Student Architecture Show is a highlight of the academic year,” said Eric Stark, Associate Professor of Architecture. “It is an excellent forum for demonstrating how our hands on, integrated approach benefits the students work and connects UMA to community projects,” Stark continued.

The Bachelor of Architecture program at UMA is the only five-year professional architecture degree program in Maine, and provides students with a path towards architectural licensure. The program faculty teach architecture through engagement, educating and empowering students to explore, investigate, and analyze the built environment. Engagement brings students into active contact with each other, their coursework, and community partners across Maine.
