Bold Riley is January’s Auburn UU Concert for a Cause

Concerts for a Cause is proud to host Bold Riley on the revised date of Friday, January 12 at 7:30pm. at the First Universalist Church of Auburn. This show benefits the church, as well as Tree Street Youth Center.

Bold Riley is known for its soaring vocal harmonies and diverse instrumentation. Members Dennis Boyd, Jr., Julia Edwards, John Gunn, Michael Hayashida, and Erin Sampson take turns singing lead on songs which range from classic folk favorites to unlikely covers and rousing originals. Fiddle, guitar, banjo, accordion, bass and an ever expanding list of percussion allow Bold Riley to provide a wide range of music to listeners. Last year they enjoyed the acoustic treat of playing in Auburn UU’s resonant sanctuary, with Dave Rowe on sound.

“Since Bold Riley’s songs often reflect on aspects of the human experience, whether marriage or loss or joy,” says fiddler Michael Hayashida, “being able to perform in a church that holds such experiences holy is richly satisfying for the band.”

Concerts for a Cause brings special concerts to the LA community while raising money for area charities. The series is produced by local musician and church choir director Dave Rowe, along with a dedicated group of church members.

The First Universalist Church of Auburn is located at 169 Pleasant St. (across fromDairy Joy). Parking; accessible.

Tickets are $15 at the door (cash or credit. FMI visit uuconcerts.org or call 783-0461.
