On April 21, MPower is hosting an international awareness campaign Go Blue Day which invites people from anywhere in the world to dress in blue and post pictures to social media with #GoBlueDay.
You can join us for #GoBlueDay from anywhere. Simply take a picture of your crew in blue and send it to us or post it to social media yourself! We’ll be looking on Facebook and Twitter and Instagram for your help in starting the important discussions that together with education can help prevent child abuse.
Nearly 20,000 cases of child abuse are reported in Maine every year. It is estimated that 90% of cases are never reported.
April was proclaimed Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention both nationally and statewide. We are organizing these events as a part of our efforts to raise awareness and increase educational opportunities for families that are vulnerable to the horrific cycle of abuse.
MPower is the only certified facilitator in Maine for the child sexual abuse awareness program Stewards of Children. MPower is also a provider of Mandated Reporter training in Maine.
