September 14th Herb Adams “HMS Boxer and the USS Enterprise ” On September 5, 1813, the HMS Boxer and the USS Enterprise engaged in a naval battle off the coast of Monhegan during the War of 1812.
October 12th Jim Dufresne “They met at Appomattox” This lecture will cover the Confederate surrender at Appomattox and the Masons who were there.
November 9th Matthew Jude Barker “The Blue and the Green” will focus on Irish Mainers in the Civil War and is the focus of the author’s new book.
This series will be held in the Scottish Rite Reading Room at the historic Masonic Temple

The Scottish Rite Reading Room is dedicated to the many Scottish Rite Masons throughout Maine history, including names you might recognize around Portland – like Drummond, Preble, Allen, and Deering.
