At a time when the addiction crisis seems overwhelming on so many levels, it is important not to overlook those instances where there has been success in treating the underlying causes. Catherine McConnell, director of Outpatient Behavioral Health at Mid Coast Hospital, will lead a panel discussion on: “Opiate Addiction in our Community: What is Working to Fight It!” at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, in the Morrell Meeting Room at Curtis Memorial Library.
This free community event is hosted by American Association of University Women Bath-Brunswick Branch (AAUW).
Panelists include licensed alcohol and drug counselors, recovery coaches, and affected others family support, as well as two individuals who have struggled with substance use and addiction who will discuss its impact on their lives, treatment experience and road to recovery.
