Preserving the Past for the Future Spring Gala

Sagadahoc Preservation Inc. Announces its Spring Gala – Preserving the Past for the Future!

In celebration of Historic Preservation Month, and to benefit Phase I of the Winter Street Center Sanctuary Project, Sagadahoc Preservation is hosting a Spring Gala, at “The McLellan House” in Bath, Maine. Built in 1841, this house at 942 Washington Street represents a true Greek Revival with full two story Ionic columns supporting a grand entablature and pediment.

This is the second in a series of fundraisers held in historic homes in Bath to benefit Phase I of the Winter Street Center’s Sanctuary Project. Project was begun as a clean-up project after the ceiling in the sanctuary collapsed in August of 2015. Sagadahoc Preservation, Inc. has currently raised approximately $52,000 of the $125,000 necessary to clean up from the ceiling collapse.

The gala will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 19. Come and join us for wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres, hear a brief history of the house from the current owner, and see some of the unique “signatures” left by the original residents of the home.

Tickets may be purchased online at or at the door the night of the event.
