    Revolutionary War lithograph exhibit

The Gibbs Library will present a selection of 18th and 19th-century lithographs depicting events of Revolutionary and Civil War from the collection of Washington resident Lennie Weiner.

The exhibit includes two historical figures, George Washington and Israel Putnam, both of whom had a significant influence on the history of the town. At one time, the town of Washington was called Putnam honoring this Revolutionary War hero. In 1825, the name of the town was changed to honor Washington.

The exhibit also includes books on the history of American Printmaking, Currier and Ives and the Kellogg brothers of Connecticut.
