“Triple Play Day”

Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Maine will host a “Triple Play Day” to educate area youth on the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle for their mind, body, and soul. The event’s exciting and collaborative exercises will have attendees moving, thinking and working together. Members of Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine will contribute to a collective goal of achieving five million minutes of activity among more than 500 participating Clubs across the country.

With more than three out of 10 young people nationwide considered obese or overweight, early education and active programming for youth is more critical than ever for a healthier future.

The upcoming event will feature activities to engage the mind, body and soul, including yoga, a giant Jenga and Connect Four, circuit style training, soccer and basketball skills, an obstacle course and trust circle exercises. Sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation and The Coca-Cola Company, Triple Play is Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s signature health and wellness program. Triple Play focuses on nutrition and health education, access to healthy meals, and teaching youth how to commit to fitness as well as positive relationship building and self-confidence elements.
